  1. Add the item name and a useful description.
  2. Review units, quantities, and costs for this job.
  3. Check the total after discounts and tax.

Step by step

  1. Organize the work

Add sections for meaningful groups such as a room or phase. Add a line item for each service or material and write a clear description.

  2. Enter quantities and prices

Set the quantity, unit, and pricing fields. Where cost and markup are enabled, check the resulting selling price rather than assuming cost equals price.

  3. Review tax and detail columns

Use item-table settings to choose relevant fields and their visibility. Review taxable items and the document tax total.

  4. Check the recipient’s view

Preview the document after editing. Verify the section order, descriptions, visible columns, subtotal, tax, and total.

What happens next

Your line items build the document total. Table and visibility settings control how the scope is presented to the recipient.

Good to know

Hiding a column changes presentation; check the preview before sharing internal pricing. Review installment amounts whenever the total changes.
