Create and send an estimate
Turn a scope of work into a priced proposal your client can review.
Before you start
Have the recipient, scope, quantities, pricing, and intended payment terms ready.
The estimate item table. Enter scope and pricing, then check the calculated totals.
- Add the item name and a useful description.
- Review units, quantities, and costs for this job.
- Check the total after discounts and tax.
Step by step
Choose the recipient and job
Create an estimate and fill in the general information. Select the existing client or lead and the project when applicable; check the title and dates.
Build the scope
Add sections and line items for labor, materials, or services. Enter quantities and pricing, then review tax, markup, and the final total. Use descriptions to explain what is included.
Set expectations
Review the payment schedule, memo, terms, signature section, and document visibility. Make sure installment amounts match the total you intend to collect.
Preview and send
Wait for saving to finish. Select Preview to check the recipient’s view, then Send and review the recipients and message before confirming delivery.
What happens next
The estimate is saved in Estimates. Sending gives the recipient access to review it; approval and payment are separate events that you can follow on the document.
Good to know
A saved draft is not a sent proposal. Check the preview for hidden columns and sections, especially internal costs and markup.
